‘People are feeling stuck in their jobs’: Chip Cutter wrote for The Wall Street Journal about how “Turnover is down. Promotions are slowing. Some companies get creative to keep employees engaged.”
+ Also from The Wall Street Journal: “The white-collar hiring rut is here. That’s bad news for young college grads.”
‘How did this get made?’ Writer Jen A. Miller shared in her newsletter, Notes from a Hired Pen, how she landed a story in Princeton Alumni Weekly after following up with a connection on LinkedIn.
“I know most of my ‘How did this get made?’ features are about stories I pitched to big legacy publications that are on the bucket list of a lot of freelancer writers,” Miller wrote. “However, that’s not how I make most of my income. In 2023, 25 percent of my earnings came from colleges and universities.”
