👀 ‘Signs of a toxic workplace you can spot before you apply for a job’: Monica Torres wrote for HuffPost about how “a little research on these [five] key factors may reveal some red flags.” Points included seeing if there’s a trail of poor reviews, checking to see if there’s video of leadership not treating others with respect and more.
💻 ‘How newsrooms leverage solutions journalism to attract revenue’: The News Leaders Association and Solutions Journalism Network scheduled a free “panel exploring how newsrooms leverage solutions journalism to attract revenue” on Wednesday, March 16, at 1 p.m. ET with leaders from Flint Beat, the Dallas Morning News and Montana Free Press.
📝 ‘How 10 women started their careers in the business of journalism’: The Lenfest Institute is celebrating Women’s History Month by interviewing 10 women for “a month-long project to celebrate women in journalism, lift up their achievements and share their advice and hopes for future generations.”
One of my favorite quotes comes from Gillian White, Senior VP of Programming and Revenue at Capital B, when asked about advice for her younger self:
“At the end of the day, one choice is not all of the choices. If you choose and choose wrong, you can always choose again. Nothing is really the definitive end. So I would tell myself to not put so much pressure on myself to make the perfect choice every single step of the way.”
Thanks for reading!

P.S. Here are a few things that fueled this newsletter/me this week:
📆 ‘Two years of transformation’: This edition of Katie Hawkins-Gaar’s newsletter, My Sweet Dumb Brain, helped me reflect and process what I’ve been through these past couple years. I hope it helps you too.
🙌 ‘A little thread on journalism, rejection and rest’: This NPR interns thread from Emma is full of great reminders for journalists at any career stage.
💻 #NPASummit22: I attended my first News Product Alliance event last week, and I highly endorse it for product thinkers! It was an incredibly thoughtful, inclusively curated summit.
