💻 ‘5 things I learned as an AAPI engagement editor covering anti-Asian hate’: Kristine Villanueva, now of Resolve Philly, described the hate she experienced in downtown Washington, D.C., at the start of the pandemic and shared advice for newsrooms.

“If you want meaningful engagement, connections and nuanced storytelling, let journalists with lived experiences lead on all levels in the newsroom,” Villanueva wrote. “Their perspectives are valuable to communities who need them.”

🧲 ‘Make your LinkedIn magnetic for recruiters’: Phoebe Gavin, a life and career coach who recently worked as the Editorial Director of Growth at Quartz, led a livestream workshop where she taught attendees how to “craft a profile that shows up when recruiters search for candidates.”

“It’s important to think about what LinkedIn is. It is not just a social network. It’s also a search engine,” she said.
