Happy Monday! Skim for your weekly roundup of jobs, industry readings, resources and more.
📝 ‘A survival guide for when you’ve been laid off’: Vanessa Fuhrmans wrote for The Wall Street Journal about “how to cope and what to do next if your company lets you go,” including negotiating severance if possible, sharing your news on social media and connecting with your contacts.
👀 ‘If you’ve been laid off’: Upasna Gautam of CNN tweeted advice and a template to help those who’ve been laid off “stand out by succinctly defining your value to attract opportunities by using this template - it showcases your expertise to an audience that has five seconds to be convinced.”
👀 ‘How to prepare for a (possible) recession’: Freelance writer and author Jen A. Miller recently shared in her Notes from a Hired Pen newsletter advice about weathering a recession, including identifying vulnerable parts of your business and actionable steps to address any potential issues.
“Even if we aren’t in a recession, I know my costs of living are going up, so it's not a bad idea to try to stress test your business, and make it more resilient no matter what's up ahead,” Miller wrote.
