Dozens of journalism jobs: Applications to be a part of Report for America’s 2025-2026 cohort of journalists are due Feb. 3, according to the organization. There’s dozens of open positions to apply for, including Connecticut Public, Houston Chronicle, MPR News, Voice of San Diego, VTDigger and more.
‘New digital investigative techniques to supercharge your reporting’: The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas is hosting a course for $95 where students “will learn cutting-edge strategies for finding people and information, get introduced to mapping tools and approaches to geolocating images and videos, try out some of the latest tools for tracking the digital footprint of people and companies and get a no-code introduction to using AI in your reporting,” according to the course description.
The course — led by Craig Silverman of ProPublica and freelance journalist Jane Lytvynenko — starts January 13 and runs through February 16.
‘Want a raise in 2025? Start your wins list now’: Ray A. Smith wrote for The Wall Street Journal about how “keeping notes can help you stand out, especially at a time when companies are keeping raises in check, thinning the ranks of managers and offering fewer promotions.”
