Learning from the ladies running D.C. newsrooms and training for business journalists
Happy Monday! Skim for your weekly roundup of jobs, industry readings, resources and more.
👀 ‘A conversation with the women running Washington newsrooms’: This Politico Q&A reflecting on journalism last year and the future with Carrie Budoff Brown of Politico, Elisabeth Bumiller of The New York Times, Swati Sharma of Vox and Krissah Thompson of The Washington Post is definitely worth some of your time.

🙌 ‘Stipends toward programs that develop your work’: Open News is accepting applications through June 29 for its Scholarships+ program, which “offers $250 or $500 toward program expenses that help you develop your work in journalism, data and code or social justice.”
💻 ‘Thinking about business stories creatively and inclusively’: Quartz is hosting another webinar on Wednesday, June 30, featuring speakers from Quartz, NYT and Bloomberg. “Panelists will talk about how to cover business stories in non-traditional ways, including how to source stories from a wide range of communities, business people, and entrepreneurs; how to surface and cover issues of race, gender, and social inequities, and how to diversify your sourcing,” according to the sign up page.

P.S. Here are a few things that fueled this newsletter/me this week:
😁 Getting ready for the Olympics: I can’t wait to watch Simone Biles do her thing in Tokyo.
📱 ‘What’s “revenge bedtime procrastination,” and how do I stop it?’ This piece from The Cut hit a little too close to home this week. I finally had to kick Instagram off my phone — at least for a little while.
📦 Life hack for moving: If you need boxes for packing, stop by your local liquor store. They often give them away!
