Happy Monday! Skim for your weekly roundup of jobs, industry readings, resources and more.
đ âCharting a path in 2022â: P. Kim Bui wrote in her newsletter, The Middles, about the past couple years and how much our lives have changed. She also crafted a thoughtful booklet to help others reflect on the year that passed and make a robust plan to move forward.
âWhat have you been holding onto that doesnât serve you anymore? What dreams need to stay a dream, for now? What hopes have found you in a time of stasis?â she wrote.

đ âMy $117,289.97 Yearâ: Writer Jen A. Miller described in her newsletter, Notes from a Hired Pen, about her income changes year over year and shared a pie chart on how her invoices broke down in detail.
âResearch institutions and hospitals made up a whopping 33% of my income, and consumer publications only 17%,â Miller wrote. âThis is largely because I quit my regular New York Times gig - which I donât regret. I didn't realize how much it had taken over other parts of my life until I stopped writing it.â

đť âBuilding live journalism in your newsroomâ: The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas is hosting another free MOOC where students will âgain tips and insights on embracing virtual event formats, parlaying event content into coverage and hosting key sessions.â The course, led by Kim Last of The Wall Street Journal, runs four weeks and starts on February 14.
+ Also from the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas: A webinar on âHow to improve COVID-19â coverage on Thursday, January 27
