A newsletter update and some personal news

This newsletter turns five years old this month!

Hi everyone!

I’m here in your inbox with a short update and some personal news.

But first: I’m so excited to share that this month marks five years of continuous publication of this newsletter! It started out with a small community and now has grown to more than 11,000 readers, for which I’m incredibly grateful.

Some of you may have seen in recent editions that we’re expecting a new (human) addition to our family this month, too! To take care of my growing family and myself, I’m planning to take maternity leave from publishing this newsletter for a few months once our little one arrives.

Paying subscribers will still get two pre-scheduled editions of the newsletter each month and access to years of archives. If that’s something you’d like to sign up for, your support is very appreciated!

If you’re currently getting the free edition, I’m looking forward to starting up production again with our new intern about three months after they get here.

This is the first time I’ve stepped back from this awesome passion project — besides a week here or there for vacations, holidays or to get married. I’m excited and nervous, but I know this family time will help me keep this community going in the long run.
