Get ready for internship application season with a calendar of deadlines and upcoming informational sessions with news outlets.
McClatchy Media internship sessions: Rhema Thompson Bland, Deputy Director of News Talent, Culture & Training for McClatchy, shared on LinkedIn that her organization is hosting a series of virtual sessions “for insight, tips and tricks on navigating news internship applications from the folks reviewing them”.
The sessions are October 23 at 2 p.m. ET, October 27 at 1 p.m. ET, October 29 at 3 p.m. ET and October 30 at 2 p.m. ET for “HBCU students and recent grads,” according to the post.
‘WSJ early careers info session’: Michelle Higgins, Assistant Managing Editor of Talent with The Wall Street Journal, created a virtual event on LinkedIn for October 28 at 1 p.m. ET for internship and news associate applicants to “to learn more and hear from former WSJ interns now on staff.”
‘How to land a sports media internship’: Associated Press Sports Editors posted that it’s hosting a virtual session with editors from The Athletic and The Minnesota Star Tribune where they “will answer questions on getting an internship and making the most of the experience.”
The session is set for October 22 at 7 p.m. ET.
